By starting with clean water we can make sure that we produce clean ice. The water is then UV treated to ensure that it is completely bacteria free before it enters the tube ice making machine. The quality of tube ice is actually better than the water it is made since the impurities present in the water are moved to the centre of the ice tube and discharged during defrost ensuring that clean, crystal ice tubes are formed.
