MECHANISM OF ACTION OF TRIMETHOPRIM:
It inhibits bacterial dihydrofolate reductase.

MOA OF SULPHAMETHOXAZOLE:
It inhibits folate reductase.

USES:
UTI, respiratory tract infection, typhoid, bacterial diarrhoea, dysentery, chanchroid, pneumocystis carini.
